Typhochlaena seladonia is a species of aviculariine tarantula, and is in the genus, Typhochlaena.This species of tarantula can be found in Bahia and Sergipe, Brazil.
It is unique as an arboreal spider that constructs trapdoors in the bark of trees. The female Typhochlaena seladonia has long, thin spermathecae, which are spiralled distally. The male has a very long embolus. Additionally, both genders have a greenish cephalothorax and a black dorsum with two row of six spots, the posterior pair being reddish and all others being yellowish.
The female adult species of this specimen are known to grow to only 2.5” equivalent to 6.35 cm while the male of this species grow to 1.75 inch which is about 4.45 cm.
ABOUT SIZES
In Tarantula life cycle, there is only eggs, spider-ling and adult.
However for pricing convenience, this is a personal rule of thumb, obviously this varies on the species of tarantula.
1. Sling (1cm~2cm)
2. Juvenile (2cm~7cm)
3. Sub adult (7cm~10cm)
4. Adult (10cm~12cm+)
It varies on species as some adults may only reach a few centrimeters while others may get (20cm~25cm+)
